Judge Signals Trouble for Part of TikTok Privacy Settlement

U.S. District Judge George H. Wu in Los Angeles indicated he would reject part of TikTok and ByteDance’s proposed 400 million dollar children’s privacy settlement.

He questioned ending a 2019 FTC consent decree that runs through 2029.

Without that piece, the Justice Department and the companies may have to rewrite the deal.
