Charges confirmed, trial calendar set
The International Criminal Court case against former Philippine president Rodrigo Duterte continues toward a 30 November 2026 opening. In April the Appeals Chamber upheld jurisdiction and Pre-Trial Chamber I confirmed charges of crimes against humanity, including murder, torture and rape, committing him to trial.
This month the record shows fresh defense and prosecution papers, including a defense motion on the form of the charges and responses dated 10 September.

Judges found Duterte fit to take part in pre-trial proceedings in January. The jurisdictional appeal failed in April.
What November will actually start
An opening date is not a verdict. The trial will test evidence from the Philippines war-on-drugs years. For international criminal law, it is one of the Court's most politically visible dockets.
