Netanyahu of Israel Condemns ICC Prosecutor's Attempt to Arrest Him

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has strongly rejected moves by the International Criminal Court (ICC) Prosecutor to seek a warrant for his arrest over alleged war crimes in Gaza. Netanyahu called the comparison made by the prosecutor between Israel and Hamas "disgusting" and a "distortion of reality." He argued that the arrest warrants were not just targeting him and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant but were directed against the entire State of Israel. This marks the first time the ICC has targeted the top leader of a close ally of the United States. The US, which opposes the ICC investigation into the Israel-Palestinian conflict, has also strongly denounced the decision.
