AN OPEN LETTER TO THE LEADERS OF NATIONS
By Joseph Bonner
President, Global Human Rights Taskforce
As the world wakes up to the smoke rising over Tehran and the sirens echoing in Jerusalem, we must look past the military jargon. Operation Epic Fury and Operation Roaring Lion are being sold to the public as "strategic necessities," but through the lens of international justice and human rights, they represent a catastrophic failure of modern leadership.
History will not remember the "precision" of your missiles. It will remember the 85 schoolgirls killed in Minab. It will remember the 7,000 Iranian protesters who sought freedom only to be met with a new kind of fire. It will remember a global economy pushed to the brink, with oil hitting $91 per barrel and the world’s energy jugular, the Strait of Hormuz, turned into a graveyard for trade.
As President of the Global Human Rights Taskforce, I am issuing this formal call to the leaders of the United States, Israel, and Iran: The age of the "Holy War" must end.
For too long, your nations have been held hostage by religious institutions that act as a "state within a state." You have allowed ancient dogmas to dictate 21st-century policy. You have wrapped your combat operations in religious rhetoric to justify the unjustifiable. This is the "dead weight" that is dragging your nations—and the world—down.
True security and national progress will only be found when you eliminate the political and financial power of these institutions from your governance. A nation cannot move forward when its laws are anchored in sectarian grievances. By removing these institutions from the halls of power, you aren't losing authority—you are reclaiming it. You are choosing Secular Sovereignty over the mirage of divine mandate.
To the leaders involved: Reinvest your war budgets into a "Global Progress Fund." Rebuild your nations on the foundations of human rights, law, and logic.
Court Magazine and the Global Human Rights Taskforce are documenting every strike, every civilian loss, and every choice you make today. We will continue to hold the line for justice, long after the sirens have stopped.
The world is watching. The ledger of history is open. Which side will you be on?
