Felony charges for man accused of shooting teen who rang the wrong doorbell

An arrest warrant was issued early Monday evening for 84-year-old Andrew Lester, who shot 16-year-old Ralph Yarl, who had mistaken the house when trying to pick up his two siblings.

Lester is facing two felony counts, including armed criminal action and assault in the first degree.

“There was a racial component to the case,” according to Clay County, Mo., prosecutor Zachary Thompson.
